This course is open to Home/EU and non-EU applicants and available in both full-time and part-time options.
Oral Surgery offers a unique combination of clinical oral surgery training and highly transferable skills in education, auditing, service improvement and research. The course will improve your confidence and abilities in the management of more complex dentoalveolar surgery while also providing a range of skills which are highly relevant to modern clinical practice.
The course allows dentists working in primary or secondary care to confidently diagnose and manage dentoalveolar surgery. The range of non-clinical skills will also help you understand the processes of service improvement, clinical research and clinical education.

This course will improve your confidence and abilities in the management of dentoalveolar surgery while also providing a range of skills which are highly relevant to modern clinical practice.
The course allows dentists working in primary care in managing complex extractions and routine dentoalveolar surgery. The range of non-clinical skills will also help students understand the processes of clinical audit and education.

Enhanced clinical teaching will be delivered to you by subject experts at the Leeds Dental Institute. While studying with us you'll benefit from the combination of hands-on clinical skills teaching and clinical problem solving.
On this course you’ll be taught by our expert academics, from lecturers through to professors. You may also be taught by industry professionals with years of experience, as well as trained postgraduate researchers, connecting you to some of the brightest minds on campus.

You will be assessed on your ability to apply your scientific and clinical knowledge, patient management and surgical skills.

Entry requirements
Primary dental qualification that is acceptable to the University of Leeds: BDS, BChD or equivalent
Full or temporary registration with the GDC
One year full time (or equivalent) post-graduation clinical experience in hospital dentistry
Academic Reference from a registered dental practitioner.
English language requirements
IELTS 7.0 overall, with no less than 6.5 in every skill. For other English qualifications, read English language equivalent qualifications.
