Overview
The PGCert in Digital Education is a part-time online distance learning course designed for professionals (for example teachers or learning technologists) wishing to further their expertise or change the direction of their career.
The programme will introduce you to knowledge, skills, and perspectives on current research in digital education. You will have opportunities to apply and reflect on this new knowledge in relation to both your own learning and to your professional contexts.

Course options – PGCert, PGDip and Masters
This PGCert is part of a suite of postgraduate programmes available in Digital Education at Leeds. We offer PGCert, PGDip and Masters level options, all by online distance learning, as we know that not everyone can commit the time required for a full masters and it can be a challenge to balance professional development with work and home life. Course content
The dialogic online distance learning delivery of the programme, with both material from tutors and regular student discussions, will provide a balance of opportunities to receive expertise from academic staff and also to learn from each other.
On completion of the programme you will have developed skills and knowledge which allow you to:
- demonstrate a critical understanding of theories and perspectives relevant to digital education
- take a proactive and self-reflective role in working and to develop professional relationships with others
- proactively formulate ideas and hypotheses and to evaluate these
- evaluate current issues and research in digital education.

On this course you’ll be taught by our expert academics, from lecturers through to professors. You may also be taught by industry professionals with years of experience, as well as trained postgraduate researchers, connecting you to some of the brightest minds on campus.

Normally a first degree plus evidence of relevant professional experience.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0. For other English qualifications, read English language equivalent qualifications.How to apply
